Woman Stretching On MatBra Fitting: Get the Support You Need

While it may come as a surprise to some, 25% of women in the UK would prefer to have smaller breasts, according to a figleaves.com survey and the British Chiropractic Association. The primary reason is that larger breasts can literally be a pain in the back. The survey reveals that 70% of the respondents had endured back pain at some time in their lives. Moreover, the survey showed that almost half believed that their breast size had an effect on their posture.

Are Your Wearing the Right Size?

It’s important that your bra fits well and be designed well, so your shoulders aren’t strained. One of the best ways to ensure that you’re wearing the correct size is to get a professional fitting. According to the same survey, 77% of the women who were measured by a professional found out that they were wearing the incorrect size.

Tips to Ensure a Proper Fit

If you’re unsure as to whether your bra is fitting correctly, here are some tips to remember:

  • The underwire should fit snugly against the body.
  • The underband should be tight enough as it provides most of the support for your breasts.
  • The centre front should sit flush against the body. If it doesn’t, this could indicate that the bra cups are too small.
  • If you see that you’re spilling out of the cups, consider going up a cup size or opting for a full coverage bra.
  • The back straps of your bra should come together in a V-shape at the back or be parallel to each other.

Just as a properly fitting bra can help you feel more confident and potentially reduce back and neck pain, sagging breasts.  Many women get paid across their back where their bra is.  Consider altering your bra and if you feel no better, contact us for a free assessment to see if there is anything we can do for you in relation to your spinal joints.  Contact us today for an appointment!
